I'm putting in a ASRock A780GXH/128M AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard in my new system and I'm not sure about the power connector. It has both 4 or 8 pin ATX 12V and 20 or 24 pin ATX power connector on the mobo. Do I need to connect both or can I just connect either one. My PSU 20 pin connector also doesn't reach the power connector on the mobo so I need to get an extension. Do I get the 20 pin to 24 pin (since my mobo will take either 20 or 24 pin) or 20 pin to 20 pin? Thanks

You must use both. Also, it would be better to use a 24pin and an 8pin. Seems like it's time for you to get a new PSU.

Thank you.. lol.. Actually this is a new PSU and it's a freebie. It's Basiq P350 and came with the Antec Three Hundred Case as a combo from Fry's. Thanks for the response and I will grab some extensions, both 8 and 24 pin today.

Given that you need an extension anyway, the 20-to-24-pin version should be slightly lower resistance.
