8 pin adapter question

My question is just to how an 8pin adapter is to be hooked up to the power supply from video card.

I just picked up on of the new HIS 4890's.

It has a 6 and an 8 pin plug on it. Came with adapters for each.

My question is. With the 8pin adapter hooked up to the card. Do I plug both the 4pin to the power supply or just 1? I assume it is both, but just wanting to confirm. The directions do not show the scenario which I have so.
