Just about anyone who would purchase his album would more than likely go see his movie. No real surprise here.

I have seen none of those movies, damn, it's been a while!
But, out of those 10, i think i might pay for I Spy and 8 mile, others can wait.

Saw it last night at 9:35pm in a packed theater! I liked it. I briefly had more respect for Eminem until I learned that a lot of the movie was fake. For example, he doesn't have a kid sister!

I haven't seen it, don't plan to see it, and made fun of my roommate when she said she was going to see it...however, it has been getting surprisingly good critical reviews--reviews saying it's *not* a big, fat cliché and that Eminem *isn't* a horrible actor :Q.

I hope Eminem is a happy man today! Not only does he have the #1 movie in the country but also the #1 album and #1 single!

Actually, about 9 million people saw the movie and his album has sold 7 million copies.

Nobody really expected it to do this well. The studio actually only expected it to get about 40 million and that was even a stretch in their minds. Just goes to show that you can never really predict how the public will react. :)

I don't remember anybody saying 8Mile was Eminem's life story.

It was loosely based on his life. The sister represents his daughter. You have to remember he had his daughter when he was still living on 8 Mile Rd.

i think one reason why it's doing so well is because there are only a few movies to bother seeing right now:

8 Mile
I Spy
The Ring

everything else is gay

edit: sorry, i forgot Jackass (which was well worth it), but still in this list, there is no definitively blockbuster movie, like a Star Wars, LOTR, or Bond like is coming out soon :D

I think it was great timing for when this movie came out, but i still have yet to see it......... i shoudl go do that

I went to see it last night at 8. The line was out the door when I got there...then some dude came out and was like "If you're going to see 8 mile get your ID out NOW. I'm carding anyone who doesn't look 50!"

So yeah, that caused a couple kiddies to have to leave :D but the theater was suprisingly packed for a Sunday night!

Edit - And I thought it was awesome :)
