I was going around Target today and I saw 8 MB Smart Media cards on clearance for $9.90. I forgot the brand, it starts with an L (not Lexmark I don't think) but for someone who needs an extra backup SM card this is probably an ok deal. (I'm out of the loop on Smart Media card prices so forgive me if this isn't a hot deal)

Bump! good deal, got the last one-although at mine (albany ny) it was 12.40, you still can't get them that cheap anywhere else-most 8 megabyte cards are at least 20 bucks!

However -
64 MB cards are about $80.
CORRECTION - $66 at newegg.com
128MB cards have just been introduced.
With my digicam I can't split pictures across media, thus 1@ 64Mb for $70 is worth far more than 8@ 8mb for $80.

Yes they work in MP3 players that take 3 volt cards. But at 8 megs, that's less than 8 minutes of music before you have to change the card.

Just happen to take a look, local B&M Calif.

Found SanDisk USB Compact Flash reader, $7.44
and a SanDisk SmartMedia 8meg card, $6.24

Seems they are blowing out more then a few types at Target.

The receipt shows (056100024) for the reader,
and (056100008) for the flash card.

Yeah! CF! I'm there! Of course, my local Target's didn't have any of the previous deals. Oh well.

Anybody know if Target will check stock if you call- I could really use one of those readers- as a matter of fact, I was going to buy one for $30, but $7.44 is a whole lot nicer.

I stopped by there today too, ours was still marked @ $30. Weird. (Although they did have a 300va backup marked down to $24, a good buy in my opinion)

Dont go by what is marked, ask them to scan it. The one I got last night was marked to $19.99, but scanned at $7.

My HP C200 will store 80 pics on 8 megs (640x480), 40 mid resolution pics, or 20 high res pics. My mother-out-laws DC200 will do 120 on 8 megs.

Just visited another Target (last one in my area)
and they had a stack of the 8meg Smart Media cards (SanDisk)
in the back of the counter, but not displayed,
and still $6.24.

They also had another CompactFlash reader (boxed) USB
for $7.44.

I think Fresno, Ca. is tapped now.
