Holy shit. I used to own that movie. You got extra points for hitting old people and children. I don't think that movie would fly these days.

Considering the Nobel Peace Prize went to a terrorist and a propagandist, I don't know if that's a compliment or an insult. :Q

What the hell kind of person walks onto a highway to watch a street race at 3:40AM? That was completely, totally irresponsible. What is almost more irresponsible is that the police were repeatedly notified of these street races THAT NIGHT, and never responded.
All around, great showing for sheer stupidity by a lot of folks.

From what I understand, two cars were participating in a race at the time of the incident. The cars passed between a large group of spectators, ranging in age from young to old, that was gathered on each side of the road. Once the racing vehicles passed the crowd, the group moved into the road to watch the final leg of the race. The white Crown Vic, that hasn't been confirmed to be participating, collided with the crowd.
Some people that were there have indicated that a few of the racing participants had paid off the local police to block the road.
If the road was blocked, how did the Crown Vic get through?![]()
Cops were paid to block the road. Cops didn't block the road. It wouldn't be the first time a cop didn't do what he was paid to do.![]()
Hah... if it does turn out that a cop was paid to block the road so they can street race, he can kiss his career goodbye.

Carmageddon was a great game. I should load that up.
Good luck getting on the high score board. Kids these days are just too good at these games.

do you have a link for that?
Neighbors said they saw dozens of cars parked in a lot near the crash scene late Friday, and suspected a race was going to happen. They said police have not responded to their complaints about street racing.
In fact, Robert Achoe Jr., said he called 911 about 12:30 a.m. Saturday when he heard engines roaring and people cheering -- sure signs that another street race was underway nearby.

I know this is tragic. But I'm having a real hard time feeling sympathy for people who were out at 3:40am watching some idiots illegally drag race who then got struck by another idiot who seems to have lost control of their their vehicle.

Eeeek... Thats pretty bad. I wonder if Maryland uses Contributory or Comparative Negligence as I can just see the flurry of lawsuits about to come flying.
