First time off the continent, 10 days, all expenses paid except food. I don't know which I'm more excited about: visiting the land of God's greatest creation (the redhead), or competing in Internationals for debate. Wish me luck. Or don't, won't stop me from having a good time.

Oh, and my comment made the assumption that 'redhead' refers to a woman.

Wasn't up to us, we stay where the tournament is set up to be.

No idea yet for Ireland and Scotland, since those are only one nighters just to say I've been there.

Debate tournament. I wish I liked seafood, then I would enjoy it. I'll still try some, just cause.

Redhead = female.
Ginger = male or female.

That's a really nice area. Right by Gloucster road station so you can get anywhere really easily. You going to be doing much sight seeing while in London?

I did that last year, Dublin no less. Beer was more expensive than it was in the countryside, and the hour long wait to get a bus into the city kinda sucked, but all around a good time. Toured the Guiness factory on St Patricks day, lots of freebies, samples of guiness bread with salmon. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Had an hour of downtime from tournament and sightseeing so I figured I'd update.

Ok, so the Isles are amazing! I could SO easily live here (except maybe for the nannyism and lack of personal rights). Accents, dead sexy. Architecture, awe inspiring. Culture, wonderful. I almost cried walking some of the countryside it was so beautiful. It really did feel like I belonged almost immediately.

Drinking Guiness and local brews at an Irish pub on St. Patrick's Day is among the top memories of my life now. And yes, Irish redheads were everything I've dreamed they would be. :cool: No, no pics until I get home.

Heading out for the next few days to do most of the touristy stuff around London. We're dropping Scotland from the trip due to time. I really want to come back and do it another time however.

The tournament was pretty amazing. I can't believe the caliber of competition we went up against. I had really lowered my opinion of the activity overall before coming here. I just wish we had this kind of opposition at the regional level...it would make it so much more fun. I took a unanimous first place decision in my group for Elizabethan Interpretation, 3rd place overall; which shocks and amazes me after seeing some of the others. In debate my partner and I were tied 7th/8th overall, and in individual points I was tied 2nd/3rd overall. Would have been nice to come out on top, but against this kind of opposition I really have no complaints regarding our performance. I'm pretty sure this was my last tournament as a competitor, as I really want to get into coaching and judging now. Sad to leave it, but couldn't have had a much better final run.

Cheers ATOT.
