I have one brand new in package Super Talent 8 GB USB flash drive in my sig below for someone who doesn't have an Office Depot within easy driving distance from where they live.

I'll do $15 shipped non-credit card Paypal (USPS First Class Mail; lower 48 states only) to match Office Depot's pre-tax sales price.

The reviews at Office Depot's site indicate that the sliding USB connector doesn't lock when you retract it, so it will extend in your pocket and not be protected. Not a bad deal for $15, though.

EDITed to add: The OP's link was working for me, but now it isn't. I'm using Firefox 3.0.11 as my web browser.

The majority of the bad reviews seem to stem from the fact that it doesn't lock closed, that doesn't bother me though. Also, a couple of people were complaining about the fact that it is formatted as FAT32 instead of NTFS, and someone couldn't put more than 4gigs of stuff on it. I picked up one today and while it is FAT32 formatted, I just dropped a little over 6gigs of files onto it without any issues.

Just have to wonder why they would opt for FAT32 over NTFS these days...

Obviously for compatibility with OS X and Linux.

Also USB tip protection is overrated. I'm much more curious about the review claiming that the drive is very fast.

I agree with Morro: I want to see the speed ratings on the OD drive

Also - the Rally2 8GB is $1 more. (Dual Channel). I have a Rally2 16Gb and it is insanely fast... so I'm wondering about the speeds on the posted drive... copying 8Gb disk images isn't fun...

The Ativa is slower compared to the HP V100W 8GB. Both FAT32. It took 1 min, 37 sec to copy a 700mb file with the Ativa, and only 1 min with the HP.
