ive got the version 2 of the Gigabyte 7VRXP and i updated my bios just a few days ago using the @Bios writer, Bios is F10, problem is that the mobo still seems to be recogized as version 1.00 (according to Sandra and Windows System Information , should i be worried about this or is that the way it is?

on the Gigyabyte website there is just 7VRXP bios, what i mean is that there isnt seperate Bios drivers for Version 1/2

Same here, gigabyte probably forgot to change the "built-in" info. I don't think it matters all that much.

phew, thanks for your reply WTT0001-im a lot more relaxed now! this board is real good, dont see why people think its bad, only problem i had was just because of my old modem, got a new Intel one and its all good!
what are your system specs/temps?
mines:
AMD Athlon 1900+ 1.61Ghz
256Mb of 2100 DDR
Gigabyte 7VRXP Rev 2.0
300WGeneric (AMD approved) PSU
40Gb HD primary
8.2Gb HD secondary
50X Cdrom
32Mb TNT2 :(

a bit of a measly gaming system but i dont game all that much, will upgrade soon hopefully when i Get a job!
and have your tried o/c? do you use Easytune if you do? and another ques if you know but do these boards have PCI/AGP lock thing?

The reason people think it is bad is that the 1.0 and 1.1 versions of it had major (and I do mean major) power distribution problems, in particular with the Geforce4 series video cards, there were also other problems, gigabyte fixed pretty much all of that in the 2.0 version but most people were scared off because of the early stuff.

System Specs:

AMD Athlon 1800+ @ default
256Mb Corsair 2700
Gigabyte 7VRXP Version 2.0
300 Watt Enermax Power Supply (AMD Approved)
80Gb Seagate Barracuda IV
TDK 16x12x40x CD-RW
64Mb Geforce 2 GTS

Runs around 40 - 45 degrees Celsius under load using an AX-7 with a low speed fan (YSTech Adjustable I think)

As to overclocking, I tried very quickly and got it around 142 before it started becoming unstable, stability is a major concern so I backed it back to default and havn't played with it. Also, as far as I know it DOESN'T have the AGP/PCI Lock AND it doesn't have the 1/5 or 1/6 dividers either, Gigabyte says it does, nobody knows for sure that I know of.

You can get a lot of useful info here

Good luck,
