7V mod on Panaflo L1A in PSU safe?

I got this PSU 2 years ago. I replaced the fan with a Panaflo L1A for noise reasons. Is it safe to only use 7 volts?

I modified a Zalman the same way, but hooked the fan up to a fan controller to vary it between 5v and 12v... I'm sure it will reduce the life of the power supply, but they're only $100, so meh.

I have a L1A in my Sonata's 380S PSU running permanently at 7V through the mod. No problems with it yet! It's been about half a year that it's been hooked up like this.
