7v mod on delta anyone help?

I have a delta hate the thing I want to use it on 7v cause the fan I have on now isnt cutting it if I run this fan at 7v What kinda CFM and whatnot should I get and hwo do I do it just connect the yellow to the black next to the red?

To wire it up to run in 7 volt mode, you'd keep the fans positive lead connected to +12 volts (yellow) but you'd connect the fans negative lead to +5 volts (red) instead of the usual ground (black)

this will quiet the fan, but also make it move less CFM

I believe you are looking for the 'delta quieting mod' which involves 1. removing the delta from your computer 2. logging on to FS/FT 3. selling it. 4. using the money you just made to buy another fan (nidec, sunon, NMB).

what heatsink are you using? Have you applied thermal grease properly? How many fans running in your system?

ummm...running your fan at 7 volts is NOT going to help temps...it's going to help noise
