LOL.. when we were desperate in high school (around 17-18), we used to buy pot from some 14yo punk kid. He ALWAYS had it around - think he skimmed off his dad's stash.

Legalize the crap already.. I wanna put the tobacco companies out of business.

Yeah, I can't wait to tell my great grand kids...."In my day, pot was illegal so we had to drive 30 miles to the ghetto, which was a long drive at the time..."

Well I think the point a lot of people make is that many people keep using drugs and don't live to be as successful as you. Of course it's possible to live a great life when stoned half of the time, just not as likely.

People that become addicts and forfeit their opportunities for a great life are at fault for making that choice. Do you need laws to tell you what you can and can not do for enjoyment because your neighbor sits at home all day in his underwear playing video games and you're afraid if you got a playstation you would do that too instead of working?

Hopefully it's clear then: legal or not, 13 year olds should not partake in drug usage.
Well duh! Do you have something else to contribute besides the obvious?
Geez, is it possible for you to post without insulting me?
I promise that I will stop insulting you as soon as you post something intelligent.

You remind me of those "community meetings" when the mob starts yelling that "something must be done!" but not one of them has a clue as to what. But because "something" must be done, they immediately begin doing everything that they already should know doesn't work.

How was my first post not intelligent? In responce to the story, more than one member said "they should legalize it" with no mention of an age restriction. My remark was intended to make them think: "would you want your 13 year old smoking pot, legal or not?"

I'm not disrespecting them in any way, yet you come along and 1) call me a troll then 2) be a complete jerk about it.

I'm not even arguing with you and you go out of your way to insult me. That's just not cool.

I feel like insulting you too because you thought that anti-marijuana laws prevented kids from smoking it.

That's not how it came across.
So you guys who want it legal wouldn't mind their (sic) 13 year old childen smoking pot?
This clearly implied that the people who wanted to legalize it wouldn't mind their 13-year-old children smoking marijuana. It also implies that because smoking marijuana is illegal, 13-year-olds won't do it.

Not the same as "would you want your 13 year old smoking pot, legal or not?".

I wrote the sentence, and I know what I intended the statement to imply. To me, the two (or more?) people who simply said "legailze it" implied that these kids should be able to smoke pot.
So, in responce, I asked if they would want their child to smoke pot at 13, even if it was legal.

How do you get "pot is illegal so 13 year olds won't do it" out of that? I did not intend that in the slightest. In fact, drug use by 13 year olds disgustingly high. The fact that I know that clearly suggests that making a substance illegal does NOT strictly control it's use.
