"In related news, Jaguar is relying on its automobiles surface, not headlights like other luxury car manufacturers do, to annoy other drivers on the road. " ;)

Throw some 20" dubs on there and you have the ultimate car for the bling bling crowd.

On a more serious note, Jaguar would be foolish to thumb their nose at a diesel offering for the new XJ. Sales of diesel cars in Europe are rising fast!

Too late and too little to the party. Audi did this more than a decade back, including an exact similary shiny car called Avus.

Jag sucks...

did any of you hot heads read the article?

it was polished to highlight/show the lightweight body and alluminum construction of it.

Yes, they wanted to show the new body construction. 450 pounds of weight saving is A LOT.

Wow, cool concept ;) The weight savings are pretty cool, but I don't see this as an amazing feat...

I read the article. Big deal :disgust: Yawn... They are about more than a decade late to the show and then they go ahead and copy Audi and a recent BMW CL prototype in shiny polished aluminium. And about the weight savings.. Audi has already been doing it long back and has done it again with their latest A8. The new A8 (even with the Quattro) is several hundred pounds lighter the FUGLY 740i BMW and beats it hands down in handling...

Dude, that "ugly design" that "belongs in the 80s" is the same reason why this is the best-selling Jag. Its a CLASSIC. If Ford even thought about changing it Jaguar would go bust. I still don't like how they Crown Vic'd the taillights in the 90s.

EDIT: That said, the show car looks like tinfoil!
