Well, we will see. HFM still says 25k, but the fah control now says 72k for 2 beta units.
Just added my X4 640 and GTX 460 in the race. Configured the GPU slot for beta work units as per WildW and Biodoc's instructions. Got a P8072 work unit. No idea if it's beta. Tried to look under this this but doesn't mention P8072. The client is giving me an unknown WU and no PPD readout.
HFM.net pointed @ localhost seems to do a good job for GPU PPD estimations/calculations...
Client for version 7 FAH Client requires .net 4, but I found it was easier to install 4.5, which worked fine...
I actually have the v7 HFM but that is also displaying zero PPD as well. Guess I will have to wait to see how much PPD it gives me. It's like opening a present on Christmas day!
New beta test WUs for fermi: 8070,71,72,72,74. No guarantee for increased ppd for beta work units.
FYI, you need to login to the folding forum to see the beta test specific threads.
My GPUs have been getting 7623, 7625 WUs and they show low PPD so I may switch to beta. Can't be much worse, I hope.
Yea, I spent $600 this year hoping to get 60k ppd for the pair. I get half that, not any better than my 560ti cards. And I got ONE wu that must have been beta for 72kppd, but that was 30k points, and now I am back to 22k ppd on a pair of 8054 units. 11k each !!!!!
Should have started building out that quad socket AMD system
Hah! Nice! Well, you can clearly disregard my advice then!
OK, folks, I am back at home and ... here are the stats for the race!
I'll do some reorganizing the teams after tomorrows stats ... this looks slightly unbalanced - for now ...
Also... my production has been a little higher than expected... for now. Losing a few nodes again tomorrow, possibly gaining more soon.
Yes, initially. Not anymore ...
Also, how is the PPD calculated? I've done 700k since the start, and it's only been 3 (or 2) days... and my PPD is only 100k?
PPD calculation - according to F@H is over time ... quite a long time. I do not knoww the exact way it is calculated but i would guess, it takes a week or so to stabilize. The PPD frpm HFM.net could be more helpful ...
I was seeing big differences between HFM.net and FAHControl on some projects.
On HFM.net, under the tools menu, I selected "download projects from Stanford" and my ppd went up a LOT on some projects. I'm not sure if the numbers are real but it sure made my morning!
EDIT: The GPU projects 2623 & 2625 ppd went up 2.5 fold! Similar to what FAHControl was reading.
For some unknown reason my points yesterday were horrible. I had 33 WU's for 3 days straight. Yesterday...only 14 completed for 38,532. I know one machine was shut down and never had the client restart (GTS 450). That shouldn't explain the huge difference.
My wife did manage to accidentally restart one machine around 17:00 cst last night. The client would never reconnect so I uninstalled and reinstalled. Elected the option to save the data so on the reinstall it picked up where it left off. Missed maybe a half hour of fold time.
Again, that shouldn't explain why the numbers are so low.
My other two machines are showing they are running fine. Just an odd day overall.
Well, so much for that race! My computer shut down last night unexpectedly. I'm not sure why, but I'd guess my video card overheated by G41 chipset. So I'll be doing somewhere between little and no work for the rest of the race.
I keep forgetting to resume folding after pausing. The GPU client makes the desktop almost unusable and I have been pausing it
My computer's working again for the moment. I think there may have been some kind of short circuit of the power switch. Anyhow, I'm not rejoining the race just yet.
I just read your post and realized that I had paused mine and not restarted.
It happens about twice a day.
Just one more pic - a very nice one!
The preparations for the race and the race itself makes a difference for the whole TeAm! The production has risen significantly from November 30 and later. Let us keep this up, OK?
Thanks for the Stats, Peter!
Thanks for the stats.
I must be getting some of the beta gpu units even though I haven't specially gone after them. I'm getting crazy ones that take almost a full day to complete for big points.
I got ONE set of the beta's (takes me 8 hours) and all the rest lately are 8054's.
Thanks for the stats Peter. I haven't gotten any beta units myself either. Like Mark, just a bunch of 8054s.
