7Ghz i5 4670!

I could easily have validated this result. And the result is entirely fake. It is not photoshopped. It is simply a mix of programs/hardware influencing one another.

So the lesson is, never trust software 100%, even when they use validation and anticheat methods.

The CPU in question is running at stock speed and certainly not 7Ghz. The mix of hardware, XTU, CPU-Z and Prime95 gave this 7Ghz result.

How would you estimate the frequency without any software tools? And I don't mean by running a synthetic test and extrapolating the performance compared to stock either.

Funny stuff.. I guess if it were true, we'd be hearing about you on the news and how a mushroom cloud formed over your house 😀

I suspect this thread will become an advertisement for the EVGA stinger board, Intel's XTU, and the 4670 as people want to try to replicate the results. 😀

You mean the core voltage at 1.097 wouldn't get it done? Maybe its one of those golden, golden, golden, golden chips.

How many years do you suspect it'll be before we see processors with stock speeds at 7.0Ghz or higher? 25 years? 50 years? 125 years?

In all practicality without lengthening the pipeline stages a la P4, we're probably going to see more cores added as opposed to clockwars again. We might never see 7GHz stock processors...
