Hi All,

I am trying to overclock my Duron 800 to run at 133Mhz on my GigaByte 7DXR Mobo.
My problem is that I cant change the FSB from the bios above 132, 132 is the highest I can go through the BIOS.

I've tried setting the clk_sw dips to boot at 133Mhz instead the default 100, but my PC wont post.

My RAM configuration is 2x256MB PC2100 from Crucial and the ram setting in the bios is:
16,8,8,2,6,2,2

So, basically my question is if anyone knows why cant I go above 132 in the FSB changing through the BIOS.

I am using a Global Win WBK38 HSF + Arctic Silver II.

I'd appreciate your help,

Thanks,

OM

Read the manual.. There is a bank of jumpers on the board where the FSB has to be set. You are in 100-132 mode, switch to 133 and you will see speeds from 133-250.

Actually I have read the manual.

I know that the default is set to 100.
But then I changed the dips at clk_sw to 133, but then my PC wont post (orange blinking led on my monitor).

I have tried raising the voltage to 1.75 and still no go.. I was wondering if it might be a voltage issue? how high can I go with the voltage on a Duron 800?

Thanks,

Oren.

Adjust the multiplier and then go back and change the bus speed. Your changing the bus speed to 133 and the multiplier is still set at 8x, so your getting 8x133 or 1066, which is probably more than your duron can do. Also keep in mind if your overclocking the chip, you should have the core voltage adusted prior to setting the new multiplier and FSB. So do this..

1) boot with pc at 8 x 100
2) go into bios and set vcore to 1.85
3) Save & Exit Bios
4) Shut down pc
5) Set Multiplier to 6x
6) Set FSB to 133
7) Power on & it should work
8) Adjust multipliers/FSB to obtain your optimal stable speed.
