My predictions:

Best Actor: Forest Whitaker
Best Supporting Actor: Alan Arkin
Best Actress: Meryl Streep
Best Animated Film: Cars
Best Picture: The Departed (though I hope Little Miss Sunshine gets it instead)

EDIT: Oh yeah, and Scorcese for sure for Directing. Every news program I've seen this week has been lobbying for the guy.

I predict people will use this thread to whine about all awards shows being a sham. 😉

Unfortunately I haven't seen many of the movies that are up for awards, so I can't predict which will win.

I really wasn't a big fan of The Black Dahlia. And the only things that impressed me about Marie Antoinette were the costumes and that they had Rip Torn play the king of France. It ended way too abruptly I think. I wasn't all that impressed by Children of Men either. They did a good job of portraying their bleak future world, but the ending wasn't all that great.

I really liked The Departed. And The Prestige. Those movies had great endings.

Damn. The Danish Poet wins "best animated short." I'm 2/3.

Edit: West Bank Story wins best live short. 2/4. Sounds like an interesting movie. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see it.

Edit: 5/7 now
