I have both a DCII 7850 and 7970 on me currently. When playing Netflix, both setups, even after clean installs, are skipping really bad during Netflix playback.

The 7970 is worse than the 7850, skipping every few seconds.

What I've Tried:

Fresh Formats and Installs of Windows 7 with 12.6 WHQL and 12.7 Betas

Problem is with both versions.

Tried Silverlight 5, both 32 and 64 bit, and Silverlight 4. Tried IE 9, Firefox 13 and newest Chrome, same thing.

Anyone else experience this? I'll take a video to show how bad it is.

Also, to note, I am on a 75Mb Fibre Op Connection, so Internet speed is not an issue.

Also, this is when PC is running 100% stock on Win 7 x64 Pro.

Are those speakers magnetically shielded? You could be killing your HDDs.

You should try the HD3000 graphics to see if it skips at the same point. I bet it might be network card issue.

Its a mess right now. Im about to move everything into a HTPC case too.

The computer is usually on the other side of the wall and connected through a hole. On the other side of the wall is a Desk with a Catleap Q270. One desktop powers both setups.

I realized after posting its a mess at the moment!

I'm buying a new Entertainment Centre and going the HTPC route as the computer room (other side of the wall) is turning into a kids room, my wife is pregnant :)

Edit: Im still on a P67 board, no onboard video

FIXED IT!!

Its a Driver issue.

Tried 12.4, Issue is now resolved.

Surprised others haven't experienced this.

Just tried watching a HD video on Netflix, no problem. Using Catalyst 12.6 WHQL. So whatever this potential bug is, it doesn't effect my Radeon HD 5770.

I had a similar issue with the 7970 with audio passthrough. When playing HD audio, my receiver would be going crazy and flashing the HD signal then going off then coming back. And it caused audio skipping just like you mentioned. 12.4 resolved the issue for me too.

Not going to happen. Even with high end speakers, the magnetic field doesn't reach very far.

Edit: Although he may be killing his DVR with that center channel covering the vents.

Everything has been reorganized and cleaned this morning. It was thrown together quickly for testing.

12.4's work perfect for me but 12.7 betas improved performance across the board.

12.6 and 12.7 beta both cause this issue for me, even after fresh installs. I formatted my computer like 6 times yesterday before just settling on 12.4.

Hope AMD resolves this.

THANK YOU!

I tried 12.7 beta again (It has best performance for benchmarking tests for me) and same issue was back, but I plugged an optical cable in my motherboard and connected to my receiver, switched audio input to optical, and boom.... Problem solved.

Its an audio issue. Switched to optical, no more issues.

This post sparked the idea, so I thank you.

How about you install the video drivers from 12.7 but keep the audio drivers from 12.4?
