7970 CrossFire freezes PC when idle - runs benchmark tests though

I can't figure out what's wrong with my CrossFire setup. My system is in sig below. When I try to use CrossFire my system will eventually freeze up even when the cards are idle, at stock speeds, and I'm just at the Windows desktop.

However, I am able to run full benchmarks without the system freezing. I've checked temps and they're never above 74C, so I don't think that's the issue. I was thinking it was a power issue, but then why would it freeze only when idle and not under load?

Is it a driver issue? I'm using the latest drivers on AMD's website.

Tried without the overclock?

It may well be a driver issue seems like a lot of people are having problem with the 7970 drivers

Yeah, tried XFire at stock and it still happens. Guess I'll just hold onto the other card for now and hope for a driver fix.

disable ulps in sapphire trixx or use the cd driver
