7970/7970 crossfire owners need your help

I have had Aero (Windows 2D) performance problems since January. I have been throughly literally everything I can think of, and have posted here, xtremesystems and guru3d and alas none of the suggestions have worked.

Today however I found a tool by Microsoft that debugs problems with aero and I would like 7970 owners to run the tool and let me know if it reports any problems. For me it says the graphics card does not support DX9 and the aero effects or doesn't have sufficient bandwidth. Which is odd to say the least but would explain the problems I am having. I've reported this to AMD but I want to know if its just me or if every 7970 user or every 7970 xfire user is seeing this. If you have eyefinity let me know as I do run 3 screens and I wonder if the problem is bandwidth related.

I don't own a 7970,but BC have u downloaded the latest Dx9 runtime from Microsoft?(Probably u have already just asking).Also have u tried Gpu Tweak to modify the 2D setting for 7970?
 
Yes and Yes. Neither make any difference.

What I need is more users to tell me if the Aero test tells them there is also a problem, because I suspect this is a problem for all 79xx users just not all of them realise its there. Its a subtle issue but one that really grates if you have had experience with fast computers before that don't have the problem.
