7950GX2 or 1950XTX

Although im not opting for either of these cards, out of interest, if they were the SAME price which would you go for?

As a 1900XTX owner I'd say NV next. This POS isn't worth the water it displaces (or soon will!).

yes id also like to know which one of these you would all recommend, I will be runnin a 24in 1,920 x 1,200 monitor. And wouldnt mind upgrading later to have crossfire.

If you vote and you have the time to reply as well, please could you just add a quick line of why you made that choice? Thanks 🙂

Based on what I know, I think the 1950XTX would be better for you, as the crossfire benchmarks have been amazing for a pair of these.

If you don't want it I'll take it 😀

I have the X1900XT and it is a great card (aside from the fact the stock cooler sucks but that is normal for generally any card, ATI or nVidia). What don't you like about your X1900XTX?

Because of HDR+AA? Because 7950GX2 seems to get around 6-10fps more in oblivion, (up to 35fps more in some games :Q)

The flickering issue.

It's driving me crazy and that is VERY hard to do.

There will probably be another thread like this in the near future but with the 1900xtx in front of the camera.

I'll send the remains back to ATi too. Ironically, the system in the thread above was destroyed by a storm on the way to Canada. :Q

Odd. I've had TVs, LCDs, and CRTs plugged into my X1900XT and have had nothing like that. Yeah the TV and CRT have a flicker due to 60Hz refresh rate but that isn't card related (and the CRT is always turned up to 85Hz+ to stop it).

But like I said before if you don't want it I'll take it 😉 I'll even pay the shipping so it would even be a free removal of the annoyance unlike shipping it back to ATI since they won't pay the charges 😀

Flickering is not a good description. It's more like a subliminal flash - probably a "nvidia is bad for you" gesture. 😛

Unfortunately I don't have any choice but to use this POS until I get something to replace it as all the other PCI-E cards here - X300's from Dell's - would not drive a pair of 2560x1600 displays.

When I get a call that a good replacement is waiting back in NY, it will be fun time. 😀
