7950 keeps reverting to default voltage

I just picked up a used 7950 to do some Milkyway@home crunching and I cut the voltage down to reduce the heat in my office, but it keeps returning to default voltage at random intervals.

Any ideas on how to get the voltage to stick?

I'm currently using Afterburner to control the settings for the card and I'm on latest Crimson drivers. This is on an MSI X99S Sli Plus with 16gb RAM and running a 14c/28t E5-2683v3

The other option is doing a bios mod. There's a step by step guide in here:

Afaik all 7950s have dualBIOS. The only downside is if you want to switch back to normal settings, you have to turn off your computer before using the bios switch on your graphic card.

It could be that it crashed and reverted to the stock voltage. What clock rate and voltage are you using?

I'm running at 925mhz and 1.08 volts. I haven't had any work units abort so I don't think it's crashing. Also, no driver resets.

Just posting an update. I turned off monitor sleep and now all is well. I just manually turn off the monitor and the AB setting remains in force.
