Hey guys! I've recently had to opportunity to upgrade my Sapphire 7950 to a gtx 970 for $100. I'm curious as to if this would be a worthwhile upgrade. Not looking to spend $400+ on any of the new gpus any time soon so I'm looking for a mild upgrade. I'm mostly disappointed that I can't get 60fps in Metro, and a few other games I splurged on in the steam sale.

My specs:
i5 4670k 3.4GHz
7950 3GB stock clocks
8GB ram
750W PSU

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the response. Is there a difference between the g1 and the regular versions? or are they one in the same?

Depends on what you consider a "regular version" - the G1 is just clocked differently out of the box. Aside from warranty, fan speeds, outputs, etc., a 970 is a 970. Unless you're an "xtr33m 0verclkR", you probably won't notice a difference between different models. $100 is a great opportunity for an upgrade like that!
