The 7950 is pretty awesome and is roughly on par with a 670 now @ 1Ghz thanks to 12.11 for an awesome $308 shipped. Not to mention, it's the Gigabyte WindForce and it comes with AMD's 4 in 1 deal. I'm also going to be getting two cards. Probably in the next month or two. I've heard that multi-card setups are usually worse with amd rather than Nvidia. Then there's the monitor. If I go this way, I'd have to go with a yamakasi catleap or shimian or something.

The 670 is still good for the price. It's only $370 on amazon for the evga FTW card. It doesn't come with any games as far as I know. But I hear that Nvidia is better at dealing with micro stutter than AMD. For the 120hz monitor, I'll be going with this acer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009222

Then you have to buy the glasses for $130.

So the Nvidia route is a little bit more expensive. I'm currently leaning toward the 7950s in crossfire +1440p.

What do you guys think?

Only you can decide.

First you need to decide whether you want 3D or not.

Then you need to decide whether you want 1440p or 120Hz.

These are personal preferences.

I would go with a single oced 7970 ghz (can't stand ms or dual gpus) and 1440p and upgrade to next gen on release date. Make sure that you have a 2600k or 3770k or 3930k and upgrade to haswell on release.

I already own a 3570k. I could probably get it up to 4.5Ghz on my 212 evo. Is there something an i7 has that is required for next gen cards?
