I have a single GTX 260 installed on my 790x 16x/8x amd xfire board.

I want to put a 8400 GS in my second slot to power my TV display so I can watch avi movies while I videogame (I tried s-video on my GTX260 and it freezes the video frame while playing a videogame).
Note, this is NOT sli, just two separate displays to shut the rookies up.

Will this work? Will there be driver issues?

Will this bring my GTX260 down to 8x or will it run my GTX 260 at 16x and run my 8400 GS at 8x?

If this happened to be a 8x/8x situation, how much of a hit will I take in performance?
I understand the GTX200 series are extremely power hungry so I'd imagine this would be considerable but I'm not sure.

The 8400 GS doesn't have a need to hook up power cables to it as it gets all its power from the pci lane.

Also, to null the question, perhaps would it be better to go with a PCI card so my performance is not hit?

That will work fine. Just be aware that both cards will have to run off of the same driver, as you can't install 2 different Nvidia drivers at the same time.

It will work fine. Just be sure the 260 is in the top/main slot and you're good to go

While I'm on topic here, I plan on buying a Radeon directx 11 card that are released this fall.
Could you also do a dual display nvidia card with a radeon card or will this most certainly cause driver issues?
