Gotta be 9800 GTX 3-way SLI. I could already smell something burning.

Granted it is unfair to judge products before using them or reading reviews, but NV's track record tells me at least wait for 6 months before even considering the board. In case of 680i, users had to go through nerve-shattering state of mind with on a daily supply of Xanax for almost a year since its debut, and that was after some most glowing hardware reviews at that time. Letting 3DMark scores out certainly has a PR factor so that's not surprising.

Nothing against to you, fzkl, though. ;) I sincerely hope NV has gotten it right this time, but considering the complex nature of new memory controller as well as vastly increased PCI-E lanes in the C73 (north bridge) / much criticized for its promiscuity and hot temper that is MCP55 (south bridge) - I would advise users to not rush. Plus, DDR3 still commands only a tiny portion of market, which provides NV with a perfect chance to beta-test the product without getting too much bad publicity. If things are less than perfect, your frustration may not be compensated in any way.

You can see in the pic that the card they use is the 8800GTS 512. Since this is not capable of 3SLI the scores refer to a std SLI setup for sure. This is pretty impressive. You are right about the smell though but this must be the board. :)

There is rumour that nV may release a DDR2 flavour of the 790. If so this will be of some comfort to some of us. Unfortunately this cannot make up for the torture we?ve been through so far.
