790GX w/sideport memory question

I'm looking to build a sandbox rig for testing different virtualization platforms and don't want to be comprimising memory capacity/performance to run the oboard video.

But I also want the power savings/slot capacity of not having a dedicated video card.

If the GX can be forced just to use whatever sideport memory is present, that would save me from buying a dedicated video card.

Has anybody tried this?

Thanks 🙂

For example:

Excellent, thanks! It doesn't seem to be an advertised feature anywhere - I can't believe I would be the only one attracted to the idea...
