Mission Accomplished.
The voltage mod has been done! I did the 1.7v voltage mod and put the wire into the holes in the coket as wrapping the wires just wan't working for me! 😀
Right now, I'm at 2608Mhz (163Mhz FSB) at 1.9v true core voltage. I apparently have plenty of power as this is working great so far and the 12v rail is barely even impacted--it's at 11.904 at idle. I was unable to get through a run of 3DMark2001SE at 166FSB as it would crash-to-desktop. I also tried lowering the memory settings but that did not fix it. I think this chip is maxed out for this voltage right now. I'm hoping I can loop 3DMark2001SE for like 6 hours with these settings. And the best part of all is the temperatures: it doesn't go over 50C under full load! I've yet to measure idle but it's in the mid to upper 30's C. I am just using the stock HSF and I had to completely remove the gunk from the pad that came with it, so I lapped the HSF and got it all nice and shiny, then put a thin layer of thermal grease that I got at a local electronics store on there using a plastic bag over my finger (Thugs: That works great!). Seems to be working very well!
