Do you guys think it'll replace current high-end 7800's, or knock them down to partly fill in the massive gap between the 7300 and 7800?

It would stand to reason that's what's going to happen. The G71 launch won't be any different than any other high end nVIDIA launch in terms of how pricing works with previous cards.

probably depends on how costly the die is it could be bigger, it could be smaller. if there is just a process shrink and speed bump, then it will definitely be smaller. but if they add on 33% more pipes, then it could be the same size or even larger (though not likely). if it is bigger, then it would be cheaper for nvidia to continue making the G70 core for mid range parts.

Probably a dual slot cooling solution like 7800GTX 512MB but use copper for the heatsink or someting, I don't know.

It would be hell cool if the 7900GTX costed like 500$, the 7900GT 400$, the 7800GTX 320-350$ and the 7800GT 250-275$ with the 6800GS coming in as the 180$-200$ part and the lowend 7600 and 7300 filling up the rest phasing out NV40/42 completely.
