Just got my thermaltake Shark in today. Has anyone else seen that you can't install a double slot GPU in this case? At least I can't... there are metal beams in between each of the slot shields on the back, so I can't get my 7900gtx to sit far enough back. Anyone experience this? Anyone have any suggestions?

Cases have almost no resale value, so reach for the tin snops, nibbler or hacksaw :)

The SilentPCReview forums has a sticky on modding under (I think) cases and damping, or Google can find you other case modding sites.

That seems really stupid of thermaltake to do that, can you just use a dremmel to cut them off?

I was afraid I may have to bring out the heavy artillery... now if only I can find something to cut it with....

strange thing is I've searched forums and googled my heart out to find anyone with the same issue... I find plenty of rigs that list a shark with 7900gtx in them... but no complaints about installation.

You talking about this POS bar? Cut that shed off and use thumb screw.

Damn, $150 for this case? I'd have bought a Antec P180.

He's not talking about the retention bar. If you look closely you can see just to the right of the 90 degree angle of the slot cover, there's a little tab above it, which I'd say is the problem. They appear to be there in order to provide support for the cards when you don't have the retention bracket or screws installed. I looked at several reviews just now, and only 2 of them even mentioned that it used a toolless retention bracket, and none of them mentioned the tabs.

Use your phaser to heat the metal enough that it can be reshaped. Those things have settings that can do ANYTHING!

HAha... actually, I went ahead and used my lightsaber.

I was able to fit it in without any modification. I was able to scoot the motherboard over a little bit to the right (removable mobo tray).

"cases have little or no resale value" D. Simmons

IDK about that - I recently got at least what I had in my Silverstone Berserker for it - maybe a bit more... :D
