Hello all,

There are 5 diff 7900gt cards.
Which one to buy? can I OC cheaper one to the same gpu & memory clock as XFX top one? Or XFX tested every gpu & memory before OC and then OC and label it for one of 5 categories?

xfx cards

XFX GeForce 7900GT 256MB DDR3 XXX Edition (PV-T71G-UDL (R,7))

XFX GeForce 7900GT 256MB DDR3 (PV-T71G-UDE (R,7))

XFX GeForce 7900GT 256MB DDR3 Extreme Edition (PV-T71G-UDP (R,7))

XFX GeForce 7900GT 256MB DDR3 Extreme Edition

Yeah I think they are tested and labelled separately, much like AMD does with their 3200+, 3500+ etc. but I don't know for sure. I could just be some random idiot on the internet who thinks he knows what he is talking about. :D

It's pretty much just speed binning, there may be better heatsinks for the higher end models, there was for the eVGA 7800GT range.

does it mean that lower clocked card can't be OC "as is" (without replacing fan) by rivatuner? that gpu || memory can't go higher without artifacts.
and that is "you get what you paid for"

any one OCed PV-T71G-UDL from 450 to 500 or higher?

Buy an OC'd version, it has better mem and the chips work a nice amount faster, it's only $20 more...

Now I have to find the e-tailer outside CA that sales it for less
so far I found directron.com only.
any other options?
And I have a week - should I wait for better price? Or supply will not be there in a week anyway? What do you think?
