I searched in here a bit but couldnt find it. how do you volt mod a 7900GT? I have a pre-overclocked one running at 520 and I can only OC to 530 without artafacts. what are stock voltages and what is safe to go to? does it matter that its factory OC allready? thanks

Here (forum post)

Vmod tutorial (webpage-ified)

Safe volts depend on what you consider to be safe. 1.4v is the stock voltage for a 7900GTX (and pretty much a bare minimum for the vmod) so thats obviously safe.

I have both of my 7900GT's at 1.45v at 690mhz on the core stable.

And the memory vmod screwed up a card for my so thats a "at your own risk" but I still got the memory to 1700mhz on stock volts which is pretty good :) The memory seems to OC nicly even on stock volts.

Any questions you can PM/Email me (I've done the vmod a few times). (or just post in your thread :p)

great, thanks. I have some windshield defroster repair kit around here somewhere that will work probably. anyknow know if that pen is in stock locally at radio shack or you have to order it? I remember looking a few years ago and no one had any idea what I was talking about...

Yes a local radio shack should have one. Thats were I got mine. (it's a POS too, but it works). Use some carfully placed tape to make it like a guide for the pen since it makes a line way too wide.

Or make like a small droplet of ink on a piece of paper then take something fine (like the tip of a paper clip), dip it in, draw with that. It won't look pretty but it'll get the job done.

If your really skilled try using the pen without any guides/help.

Have some nail-polish remover (the plain stuff, no crap added, then go over same area with some alcohol) standing buy (or alcohol, 90% preferred) incase you make any mistakes. Cue (SP?) tips work wonders sometimes.
