Does Compusa has a history of price gouging? I thought they didnt and had some pretty good deals on video cards in the past. Correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah i think the x1800xt is better dael if you are wanting good IQ :! AVIVO :! but if 7900GT are faster than 7800GTX than its different story for sli people unless the x1800xt mastercard goes for $350ish.

I might just go stupid and by a 7900GTX then think about it afterwards. Then I?ll justify me spend and unpaid credit card bills when looking at the GTX bling in my case. :D

Im thinking the same. I've got my X1900 XTX on ebay now, gonna pick up the 7900 GTX on release. depending on which I prefer is the one I keep. just gotta tell the winning buyer the XTX was stolen and no longer on sale if I wanna keep it :p
File a buyer/seller agreed purchase cancellation and hey presto, I'm sorted :p

Like you, i've also just ordered that DFI lanparty eXpert.
I didnt like the Asus A8N32 SLI deluxe too much, rubbish board layout imo.
To cramped and so forth.
Plus, i'm just not getting good temps with it at all.

CompUSA/BB/CircuitCity tend to stick to MSRP like glue, and for almost the entire product cycle without dropping (barring any promotional sales). So if CUSA has it for 349, there is a nice chance it will be a lot closer to 300 at various online resellers. So, that IS a very good indication of a great price war coming around.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I think we all were expecting the msrp to be $299 (see previous pricing rumors), this isnt that bad.

nib95 - you'll just get negative feedback instead. Quite rightly too.

What kind of fool would accept that in between the time of your auction ending, and you posting the card, someone broke into the house and nicked it, coincidentally at the exact same time that a competing graphics card came out too?

Where can you get an X1800XT for $299?

I would like to see this as well........... Retail X1800XT 256 goes for $349 at newegg.
