7900gt + coolbits

To those of you that have not volt modded your cards yet... (wtf is wrong with you! hurry up!) I am wondering what coolbits detects your optimal clock speeds at.

Please include if you have a factory overclocked card and/or an aftermarket cooler.

I have a factory overclocked card that came at 550mhz core and 1580mhz memory.

unfortunatly I never even attempted to overclock my card as it ran so damn hot prior to installing the zalman vf900.

now the autodetect sets me at

579 core
and
855x2 (1710) memory

it runs stable..during fear 3dmark05 rthdribl and oblivion so far. no artifacts during the 3 hours of testing. 2 hours spent in oblivion 15minutes of fear (just sick of the game lol) and a 45minute 3dmark05 loop of firefly forest.

have not tried to push it more...but just wanted to compair to standard unmodded cards to get a general idea.

also id like to note that the load temp did not raise a single degree after the overclock.

thnx

I think the Overclock is good, since there arn't any voltmods at all. Mine would only do ~560 on the core.

thanx for refrence. perhaps the factory overclocked evga cards are better than the standard.

essentially thats what I am trying to figure out...

But WITH the vmod's my overclock crushes yours.

With the vmod's it does ~650/1850. I'm still testing for stablility at a higher speed, but that's (i think) a stable OC for me.
And thats with 7900GT's in SLI.

=P ofcourse.

I just installed the zalman today ill be giving her a few days to settle down before I volt mod the card 😀

let ya know how that turns out =P

Just make sure to have a multimeter in hand to see if you actually did it right.
