Hi

I want to ask you a few questions.

1)Will Antec SL450 be able to take the load
Amd 64bit 3200 winnie
Asus A8N E
1gb X 2
7900GTX
160sata ncq
1dvd rw
1dvd rom
2 cabinet fans
1 additional fans
1 sound blaster live 24bit card
My rig is one yr old and has 6600GT with 1gig,. I am planning to upgrade.

2) Will my rig benefit a lot with a 7900GTX over the 7900GT. I don't plan to overclock anything.

3)Can a 7900GT be able to play all games at 1280*1024, 0x aa, 0x af, HDR etc Turned on yet perfectly smooth and perfect with my rig. How much will a 7900GTX benefit me?

1.) What's the output on the 12v rail (sorry I couldn't find the specs online)
2.) Depends on which cards you get. The higher clocked eVGA/XFX cards will come close to a stock 7900GTX but overall the benefit will be significant especially at higher resolutions. But at 1280x1024 I would say not worth it.
3.) Depends on the game. Newer games like GRAW definitely put a lot of stress on the card. Older games like F.E.A.R., BF2, HL2, Doom 3, etc. will run smoothly at that res with some AA/AF.

Again, if you're limited to 1280x1024, don't bother with a GTX especially consideing the extra framebuffer is useless at that res.

I am talking at stock

At 1280X1024 with GTX I will use 4x AA and 16x AF as well.

Hmm. Well 25A should be enough considering you only have one HD and a single-core CPU. Though I'd recommend getting a PSU with at least 30A on the 12v rail.

Well there are many 7900GT which at clocked at 500+ core and 1500+ ram all stock factory overclocked.

But yeah if you're comparing a GT @ 450/1320 vs. a GTX @ 650/1700 then yes the difference will be significant at even 1280x1024.

You will be able to play games at roughly 12x10 4xTR SSAA 16xAF HQ turned on. A 7900GTX is alot faster than the 7900GT.

@ CoolerMaster, did you tell me for a 7900GT or 7900GTX

Bear in mind the rest of my system

I also doubt your claims for a similar system with 7600GT is able to run FEAR at only 1024*768, with soft shadows off, without aa/af

I only want practical experience to speak, no website benchmarks

Please mention those settings which are perfectly smooth and superb or have fps of at least 40-70fps depending upon game

I am talking of games like BF2,FEAR,MW,GRAW,Oblivion

Please reply.
Tell me about the performance of them both in the most extensive games of today.
