7900GS

Well, i'm finally buying a new graphics card since i've had an ASUS Premium motherboard lying around to replace my MSI. The MSI was AGP, the ASUS is PCI-E. The most power extensive game i own is Battlefield 2. My old graphics card is a MSI 9800pro. I figured a 7900 series would be a pretty nice upgrade. After a looking for a while, i decided on a 7900GS from newegg:

I figured at the rate things are going, I'll have to buy a new computer in a few years anyway, but this is for occasional gaming and to get me through college. Do yall think its worth it. Is there really a noticable difference between the 7900GS's 20 pixelpipelines and the 7900GT's 24?

Well, i hear good things about the XFX cards, plus i'm not a fan of overclocking and don't mind forking the extra cash for the XFX one. Call me retarded, but that's just the way i am. What i really want to know i guess is it worth the money to get the 7900GT over the GS? Plus i'm thinking i might go SLI, i couldn't do that with the x1900xt on my board, and isn't one of those about the cost of 2 7900GS anyway?

You can find X1900XT cards for about $250 on a good deal or with a rebate. Definitely not twice the price.

Guess i'm just not looking in the right places, still though no one has answered my question about the 7900GT vs 7900GS.

The 7900gt is about 16-17% faster then the 7900gs. So I guess the extra pipes make a diffrence

I just liked the way the XFX looked to be honest, but since its going to be in a case it doesn't matter. This is one of those times to be logical and yall know what yall are talking about. Thanks for the help!

Well, as muched as i wanted the XFX, i went ahead and bought the eVGA 7900GT with the 20 dollar rebate from newegg since i was ordering some other stuff from there. Now i'm getting more for less. Thanks for all yalls imput on this, got me thinking logically.
