I just got my 7900GS a few days ago and the thing is freakin loud when in 3d apps/games, is this normal? Also what rez/game/fps do you get on the 7900gs?

Mine is on its way here now. Hopefully it's not too loud. It will be replacing an X700 Pro so I am also hoping to see some nice performance gains.

I have a BFG. When I played CS:S the first time on it, I heard a muffled whirling sound that I thought was coming from my roommate's room. It was that loud. Now I've gotten used to the noise and pretend I don't hear it when it's running like that. However, the weird thing is that CS:S drives it to the limit but Oblivion doesn't...
And my results: CS:S / 1280x1024 / 4xAA 8xAF / 110 FPS
And no, my pipes did not unlock.

Not doable, it seems the gs is a new part.

If you have a BFG 7900GS, you may be able to unlock your pipes. A batch of them used G71 cores (if you're one of the lucky ones, remove the cooler and look at the markings on the GPU; you should be able see the G71 designation). The others don't unlock, though - nVidia lasers the connection between the pipes so there is no way to do this through software.

My 7900GS is a Pny (got it when Best Buy had them for $150). RivaTuner shows that it is a G71 core. I tried to unlock the extra pipelines, but after rebooting RivaTunder shows 20pp/7vertex in the opening screen. When I go into the custom view it shows 24pp. I ran 3DMark05, still got around the same score as before (running at 525/660) so I guess they did not unlock. I can push my 7900GS to about 575mhz on the core (and that's with a Zalman cooler) but that pushes the limits of it's stability. My memory is maxed where it is, I got a bit of a dud overclocker. Still works fine for me as is at 1680x1050 though.
