Oh I'm a big cream and sugar guy, I like 1/3 cream and sugar, 2/3 coffee. Its not wimpy, its delicious! I went to costa rica last summer and thats all they drink, no one ever has black coffee there.

Now really fixed. Ladders are supposed to go up. Also, just as a reminder that all these prices are for lowest quality/speed (not that they are bad) in their group. Factory overclocks and Company's that use higher quality components are higher priced. The ladder then can change.

Cant believe someone would think a 7900gt>1900xt.

7900gt is x1800xt territory.

Also mrfatboy got all the prices which puts things into perspective, but you should also note that the top nvidia cards have rebates and the ATI cards are OTD, with the exception of x1900xt 256.

In my opinion the ati cards are the best bang/buck. For nvidia cards to even get prices close to ATI you have to go through rebates.

EDIT: To the OP, the 7900gs and x1900xt are totally two different cards. I dont understand how these two cards are your choices. I could understand if you had two cards that were close in performance/price.

Here is another step in the analyis. I used Anandtech data (which agreed with this thread) and added a cost per frame column.

The x1900xt is clearly the best bang for the at costing $3.34 per frame. While the X1950XTX is the worst bang for the buck at a cost $5.03 (the highest)

I have this all nice and neat in an Excel file if anybody is interested. It's too bad we can't format these posts better.

Again, remember these are the least expensive cards in each card category.
