Question regarding on what to buy regarding two models.

Right now prices AR are about the same from Frys and Newegg, but your looking at memory clock of 1550 from 7600GT vs. 7900GS of memory clock of 1380. I know the differences of 12 pipelines for 7600GT and 20 pipeline for 7900GS but which one is a better deal. I'm an amateur obviously asking this question I need some good help on this answer.

I've read Tom's Hardware guide but that's 1400 memory clock and 1380 memory clock.

I had a similar choice last year - I opted for the 7900GS as it should be faster by quite a useful amount.

Dont mind those memory clock speeds. The 7900GS has 256 bit memory interface, 7600GT is 128 bit. 7900GS is plainly faster in all areas. The core can easily be overclocked 100Mhz or more, as well as the memory.

You won't be disappointed. I clocked my EVGA 7900GS up to 600/1600 easilly with a Zalman 900 cooler.
