I wanna buy a 7900gs vga but I don't know which the board is best? Gigabyte, Asus, XFX, Sparkle, Evga, ... I wanna use it in original core clock (not overclock), I prefer the more silent one. and another question: do you think which one is more important. buying a gigabyte 7600gt that has silent pipe and don't use the noisy fan OR buying a 7900gs that use the fan. i don't want buy aftermarket fan to replace the original fan' board.
thanks

Well, what is important for you? having a quiet gaming system? the 7900GS is much faster than the 7600GT, and i'm assuming you will at least be using some sort of speakers/headphones, so you won't be able to hear the video card at all, unless you game with the mute on.

Thanks. I got the answer of my second question: I'll go and buy a 7900 gs but why you choose the eVGA board?

Mainly for their warranty and step-up program  and I think they price their video cards lower than others, at least from what i've seen.

You can grab an EVGA factory-overclocked 7900GS from NewEgg right now for $140 after MIR. Pretty sweet deal, imo -- and, if you decide to upgrade your video card again in the next three months, you can use their step up program that lobby mentioned -- essentially, you pack up your 7900GS and send it back to EVGA after buying a new one (or before?) and they'll put the cost of the 7900GS towards your new card -- that is, assuming the new card is an EVGA card as well!

If noise is any consideration at all do not get the 7900gs. They are ridiculously loud. I don't know what to get instead, but trust me, it will drive you insane if you don't replace the fan.

This is true. My Evga 7900gs is quiet idling, where it is running at 20% fan speed. However, it goes up to a crazy loud 100% on any 3d app. Rivatuner and other software fan control does not work with this card. The only way is to change the fan speed by editing the bios, a hassle I am not going to undertake because I hope to step up to a new 8600.
