Has anyone with 7900 GTX Superclocked had a chance to benchmark with 3Dmark 06 yet? .I've seen a few #'s and arent that impressed with what I have seen so far.. I currently have 2 7800 GT CO SE's in SLI and my numbers look as good as some #'s I've seen with the single 7900 GTX Superclocked. My reason for asking is I am currently in queue for the step-up at EVGA for a 7900 GTX Superclocked. As of 3-20-06 I got 5834 in 06' at a res of 1280x1024. I am not trying to stir any flame wars..please dont start.. I am just a little concerned about my decision to step-up.

I'm still wondering why people buy or upgrade their cards just to get high benchmark scores.

I have the same cards and I'm pretty sure they are faster than a single 7900 GTX across the board, so your stepup would be a downgrade. A better option would be to stepup to two 7900 GTs instead.

I am not up-grading just for benchmark scores..what I am doing is I am in the process of up-grading all I can as I get the money so I can get the full potential of my current mobo. I am looking at others scores to make sure I am not making a mistake by going with the step-up tp the 7900GTX from a 7800 GT CO SE SLI config. I do plan "in the future" when my money situation is better to go SLI with the 7900 GTX SC's I just dont want to see a "let down" until finances allow me to get the second 7900 GTX SC.

i upgraded from 7800 gt sli to a 7900 gtx @ 680/1760 (waiting for my other gtx for sli)

so far, the gtx is on par with my 7800 gt sli @ 470/1140

i don't have actual numbers, but it feels about the same

Higher benchmark, better frame rate in games, naturally.

OP, what is your step-up queue #? Mine is the two hundredth and very slowly going down. eVGA is having a tough time to meet production demands on this particular card, IMO.

@ videopho... I am at # 175.. I havent moved any since the weekend..lol.. hopefully EVGA will get another shipment in soon.. I can (sorta understand) EVGA having a slow time about keeping up with demand on the Superclocked models.. these are "cherry picked" cards ( according to EVGA's website) and out of 100 7900GTX's there maybe less than half of those that will be stable enough to run the higher clock #'s and still be stable. At least that is my way of looking at it.

@ moonboy403..thanks for the info.. I hope that holds true.. I'd hate to see a big drop off in performance untill I can go SLI..
