Any have any info/experience on OC'ing a 7900 GTO back up to GTX speeds?? Can I do a straight OC, or do I have to adjust the volts? If so, any idea of those settings?

I'm rather hesitant to flash it to a GTX.....not sure if it's really worth the risk if I can just OC it.

Much appreciated.

Try straight OC first using coolbits.

If you can game for long periods on OC without any artifacts then no need to flash the bios.

Looks like my gto can do a straight oc on memory to 1600mhz, but I've scaled back to something I feel more comfortable with. I'm currently undervolting and running at 623/1500 myself.

What do you mean by undervolting?

Mine wouldn't reach GTX speeds with the BIOS it shipped with (.13), but after a flash to an older GTO BIOS (.08) it runs happily at 700/800.

I would do that long before I'd go to a GTX BIOS.

Yep. .13 bios has limited OC (725/760). I flashed to .08 and am at 735/800 now. anything past 800 immediately gives artifacts though.

what about vmodding a gto? I'm still searching for that. I'd like to see if I can get anywhere near my 7900gt speeds. My 7800gtx 512 ebay auction is up in 4 days, so I have that long till I decide between another 7900gt, a 7950gt, or the 7900gto.
