7900 GTO screen tearing issue

I asked this in my 7900 GTO thread, but of course, it got lost amonst all the other posts.

With my new 7900 GTO, I am having a very annoying issue with tearing on my secondary display, which runs in portrait mode.

I did not have this issue with my X1900XT.
I did have this issue with my 7000 Pro.
I assumed it happened on the 7000 Pro due to being an old card.
But i am not sure why it's happening on my 7900 GTO.

If i run things in non-portrait mode, there are no problems.

But in portrait mode, scrolling up & down results in nasty tearing, which is incredibly annoying since i spend a lot of time on forums & websites where scrolling is required.

Here are my IQ settings:

Second pic is the rest of the settings.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Did some searching on other sites & google...same issue mentioned once or twice, but no fixes mentioned :(
This is really frustrating.

I should mention it's not just tearing.
Menu popups etc. that scroll up or down are ever so slighly more sluggish in portrait mode also.

In pretty much every way except for this issue, i prefer my new 7900GTO to my X1900XT.

But i am actually using my secondary display in portrait likely 70% of the time i am on my PC...more often than i use my landscape mode display, so i won't give up using it in portrait.

But for scrolling down a webpages, menus pulldown, etc., there's no tearing & no performance loss?

And also, i wanted to verify you are running a secondary display in portrait mode right?
Or what's your config?

have you tried changing drivers? Seems like a slam dunk case for driver issue.

Err, thanx, but i was specifically asking about portrait mode.

Or did you mean to say 1024x1280?

Tried the Xtreme Gs.

I didn't bother trying the old ones out there, because older threads on forums out there showed ppl having the same issues (with older drivers too).

There's a startling lack of information out there on displays run in portrait mode though...i guess i'm crazy for doing it.
