7900 gt

Frames will go up the lower you have your resolution set. This card comes OCed pretty highly even at the lowest price tier, for example the one newegg is selling for $299. This card is pretty close to a 512 7800 GTx which was top end and people gladly shelled out $800 for just a few months ago for.

A budget gamers card right now is probably along the lines of a 7600 or lower, however, since if you have a older or slower CPU and a low quality PSU, you may well either be bottlenecked even with a 7600 or you well may not have the power capability to run a 7900GT.

Unless your running at over 1200 X 1600 and have at least a A64 equivalent CPU, you may be better off saving $150. For long term useage, if you plan on holding on to the same vid card for years, then yes, go with the 7900GT.

7900GT OC will play any game at 1600x1200 without AA/AF and majority of games at 1280x1024 4AA/16AF especially overclocked. It's not what I would call a budget card. If you want to play at 1024x768 or below, just get 6800GS, X850XT or better yet 7600GT.

its for a new build probably within the next two months or even within the next week
As some of u might have read my other threads i'd like to stay at a $2000 limit
u think i could get a 7900gtxfor this

Except the XFX 7900GT Extreme/XXX will play more than 1600x1200 0x/0x.... you're looking 1600x1200 4x/16x in many cases. If you want a good idea of what performance to expect with the XFX OC'd 7900GT's, look at 7800GTX 512 performance and subtract 1-2 FPS.

i dont trust benchmarks that much cause within a game u might see explosions which would drop the frames
Anyways i saw the benchmarks before

I highly doubt you'll play Oblivion w/ max settings @ 1920x1200, unless you have a 7900GTX/X1900XTX, even then you might have to look into a Crossfire/SLI setup for smooth performance.

Good luck getting that to run well at those settings.
