7900 3dmark scores

Ok, having read the article detailing 3dmark scores for the 7900GT and GTX is anyone else unimpressed? Read here:
http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=1121

I have a paultry 6800GS OC from BFG running on a depressingly old XP1700+ (@ stock) with 1GB RAM...my 3dmark03 scores reach 7500 even with a AGP controller conflict forcing me to use a PCI-PCI bridge generic driver and depreciate AGP performance substantially. Admittedly, I can't even run the 3dmark06 test and benchmarks aren't always the clearest indicator of real world gaming performance but I can't say I have been blown away by this sufficiently to frantically save my reasonably hard earned pennies.
I know initial retail prices aren't looking favorable (if mwave website is to be believed) so is anyone really waiting for the launch to rush out and buy one?
How many people have rushed out to get the X1900XT/X??? Who is the target audience for the 7900 models? 6600 series and lower card owners? Are these consumers the sort to want to throw down over $500 on a new video card? More provocatively, are any current ATI fans considering a move to these nvidia products?

There's a consensus that says the benchmarks are errant.

And yes, this is a repost.

the benchmarks are NOT errant. They are running the tests at 12x10, not the default 10x7.

I know what resolution they're running them at. Stop being an idiot and arguing, and read the other thread.

You an ATi fanboi or something?

Even so, they lag *far* behind many published scores for the X1900XTX and also, IIRC, the GTX 512 (run at 12x10).
