The cost of my 91 pg. French workbook. This is absolutely unbelievable.

I mean, it's written by the professor and it's only available in the campus bookstore-- and they're already raping the wallets of us students, so why not get some chump change on the side, eh? Ugh, I hate beginning-of-the-semesters.

200 photocopied pages poorly bound together: $129 + 15% tax.

My ripoff is worse than yours!

find ten other people in the class and a copying machine.

stick it to the man.

or buy the workbook and make ten copies and sell them in class for $20 each.

Get together with 7 friends from your french class. All chip in $10. Buy 1 book, photocopy 7 times.

It's a little late for doing that I think. Since, ya know, I already bought the book, there's no way I can get that money back-- and most people in the class I know are gonna be too lazy to give me $10 and let them photocopy my book. :p

Lots of people just buy, photocopy and return. Save about 50% by having a copy shop do it for you I think. I've been too lazy, and it's nice to have a hard cover and occasionally colour. I'll be down about $400 in a week buying books for new term, fug.

The good news is that you can sell it back for $6.50 at the end of the semester

EDIT: Providing he hasn't written an ever so slightly changed new version and they no longer need your book

In other news, I only have one semester left. My wife bought my books for me this semester too....so I'll only have to put up $60 for a software license....then I'm OUT!!!

I'm guessing since it's a workbook they won't buy it back under any circumstances.

I start college this month and I don't even want to think about how much I'm going to spend on books.

It's bad when you pay a ton for a new book and it isn't even bound, I mean wtf? We're talking about 500 pages, and not bound. gah of course there are no used copies.

TAKE THE INITIATIVE! Make a few copies and take 'em to class to sell, in front of the professor. :p

I took logic last year and they wanted ~$70 for a little logic workbook as well.. but luckily the prof wasn't a douche and had a bunch of copies on reserve in the library for us.
