Ok. I'm not going to mount the cooler master because I don't feel like removing the heatsink.
Now you guys probably think this 79.2CFM IS WAY OVER OVERKILL, but I just want to make sure the Radeon stays cool and I am willing to pay the extra money.

Can you guys PLEASE check if this fan will work for the Radeon LE????

It says 50mm I think......and I heard 50mm fan fits perfectly on radeon le.

Radeon's don't put out much more when overclocked. 50mm fan seems way to big physically. Is it hot now? or just a little warm.

Techie333,

My Radeon LE has a small Nidec Gamma Blower blowing from the front of the case across the end of the video card. It barely gets warm to the touch after 15 minutes of hard core gaming or benchmarks. I don't think a big fan is needed, but as any precaution, a small one would be in order. I measured the heatsink, and it would still appear that a 40mm fan would be better suited as the heatsink measures around 1.75 inches, not 2.

Here's what I'll do.
I am just going to get this fan; I will try to fit it on the heatsink and if it doesn't fit, I will be getting a new case in a week or so that can use 2" or 3" fans. I'll just use it there and 79cfm should be good for case fan.

:D:cool:;)

I don't think that fan would be 50mm, as the thing says 4.72x1" so I took that to say 4.72" square by 1" deep. Sounds like an 80mm case fan.
Anyways, that's not what matters, what matters is that they say it puts out 79cfm!! :) Do you realize how much that is?! A HIGH quality 80mm fan only puts out 45-50cfm at the very most. Either that's a misprint, or that fan spins at about 20000 rpms which would be as loud as a hairdryer. :)

If there was ever a 50mm fan that put out 79cfm, go over to the Cooling forum and they'll jump on that deal like .... fill in the rest, I can't think of something funny off hand. :)

yhea....that seemed funny to me too.
I'm just going to call them and verify all this junk before i order.

edit: The fan that the FOP32 uses is by this same company.

I put a thin 50mm fan on an LE. It fits perfectly. The HS is the exact same size. The 4 screws line right up with the 4 corners of the HS. Looks like a factory install.

its same (or close to) size and all u have to do is mount it somewhere near the videocard.

hey "MUSTANG"

I know it's overkill but I'm getting it because I want my radeon to stay COOL.
Understand?
And what I mean by if it'll work or not.......................does it fit or not?
thats what i mean....cause its hard to believe that a 79cfm 50mm fan is so cheap.
See SONNY?

EDIT: I will call RADIOSHACK TOMORROW AND REPORT BACK ON IF ITS A 50mm FAN OR NOT. I HIGHLY DOUBT IT BECAUSE IT SAYS SO DIFFERENT ON THE SITE FOR THE DIMENSIONS.

If it is a 50mm fan, it will fit. You have no profile, so I dont know your email. Mine is active. Send me an email, and I'll reply with a picture of an LE with a 50mm fan attached.

Its a 120mm fan. This page has some specs on it. That fan is a 50dBA bastard, so its going to be quite loud. There are better, less noisy 120mm fans out there to be had for a little less. If your looking for a good, quiet 50mm fan here is an 11cfm, 26dBA one for $6.

I called RadioShack and this is NOT a 50mm fan.
I asked him why it said that on the bottom and he foolishly said,"I don't know why they have that there."

MORONS!!

Okay- whew. I was really wondering how a 50 mm fan was putting out 80 cfm. Spinning at 50,000 rpm?
