785G (even with latest catalyst drives) = weird artifacts on windows bootup

I got a 785G mobo as a replacement for a dead mobo on my dad's work machine. I installed a fresh copy of windows 7 64bit on it. It has this weird thing when windows start where the screen flickers and the win7 loading animation "explodes". I tried installing latest drivers and its still doing it. Anyone else have this problem?
