My HTPC is doing well so far, but i'm wondering if throwing a $50 ATi 5450 card in there will get me hybrid graphics and CS:S playable at 1080p res.

As of now, i can only play at 1280x720. And only around 50-60fps at that. Once i change to 1080p resolution on my XBR5 HDTV my fps drops to unplayable 30 resolution. What recent games will the 5450+78G handle?

Also, If i use the HDMI out on the 5450, will i get sound from my integrated sound? What if i add my Xonar DX to it? Will i get sound from the HDMI out from the video card?

Too many questions, sorry dudes

1) Dual graphics/Hybrid Xfire with a 5450 requires a 890 chipset. the 785 is a non-starter
2) It only works with certain games, of which CS:S isn't listed (AFAIK)

If you don't need low profile, a 5670 should do what you want if all you are playing is CS:Source. However, 1080 gaming is fairly CPU and GPU intensive and a 5670 won't be enough for many current titles at that resolution.

All ATI HDMI audio is from the cards built-in "sound card" - it won't pass audio from your on-board or add-in sound card.
