7820x Purchasing Question

I'm about to buy a 7820x and I see two different ways to purchase this. There is the regular box on B&H for $678.75 and then I see 'Processor Tray' on Provantage for $588.48. I've used Provantage before and trust them, but is there any issues with purchasing as a processor tray as opposed to the boxed version? It's almost $100 less, so if there are no issues....

Here is the link to the provantage site for the processor: http://www.provantage.com/intel-cd8...WC1_e5Y_ES7eLs4d-7nixovpj7s4ijnBoC-DQQAvD_BwE

Any input (other than buy a Threadripper) would be appreciated.

It is just OEM. I've bought plenty of OEM chips over the years. Same thing but with no retail packaging.

I'm not sure what you do on your PC to warrant an 8 core cpu but I will admit if I were to buy a new CPU today I would get the 7820X. I think many would tell you to save a butt load of money and buy a Ryzen 1700X and OC it but my money would go for the 7820X.

When an OEM such as Dell buys chips, they don't come in individual boxes. They are bulk packed in trays. Large sellers can also buy the chips in the bulk trays.
The "box" is the regular retail boxed chip.
The "tray" is a chip taken from a bulk package of chips.
