Don't get suckered into future proofing. There isn't, and never will be, a significant performance advantage to DDR3 on a Core2 system. Until DDR3 becomes as cheap as DDR2 it's not advisable.
I assume you're going SLi? How big is your monitor?
Edit: And the caps aren't really necessary. I may have glasses, but my vision isn't that bad.

future proofing does not exist in the computer industry... (except if you build a computer for someone who will use it for years is not even tech savvy enough to get a ram upgrade, in which case, get more ram or they will run out later and not even know it)
